I want to feel better
General dentistry is a catch-all term for a wide range of dental procedures that include cleanings, fillings, and extractions. While these procedures may seem simple enough, there's a lot to them!
We are dedicated to providing you with the best dental care possible. We offer routine cleanings, which are so important to your overall health. And suppose you are experiencing pain in your teeth or jaw or headaches (migraines). In that case, our dentists will fully evaluate your teeth, gum tissue and jawbone to determine the cause of your pain or discomfort and begin treatment immediately.
Taking x-rays is a critical component of your dental hygiene. X-rays are taken to ensure no hidden problems causing issues down the road. It gives us a glimpse into the parts of your mouth that we cannot see. If we discover decay or other types of damage that needs attention, we'll talk with you about treatment options. We may recommend a simple filling or a more complex root canal procedure. We'll even let you know if there's nothing for us to do—sometimes all our mouths need is a little extra flossing!

The Cleaning
Cleaning is the first step in general dentistry, and all your teeth must be cleaned regularly, especially if you have gum disease or other conditions. During this procedure, your dentist will use special tools to remove plaque from your teeth and gums, as well as polish them.
Filling of Cavities
If you experience tooth decay or damage to your enamel (the outer layer of your teeth), a filling may be necessary. During this procedure, your dentist will repair the damaged area with resin or composite material.
Root Canal
A Root Canal is the removal of a tooth's nerve and pulp, which is usually caused by decay or an injury. The tooth is then cleaned and filled with a sealant to prevent further infection. Root canals are one way to save your teeth from being pulled out or undergoing other, more invasive procedures.
Extraction
In some cases, when decay is too severe or has gone untreated for too long, it can lead to infection in the roots of your teeth and cause pain and discomfort. If this happens, your dentist may recommend an extraction because it's safer than leaving an infected tooth. This procedure removes all traces of decay from beneath the gum line so that it cannot spread further into your mouth or jawbone—which could lead to even more serious complications down the road!
